Certainty is an illusion.
It is the number one killer of dreams.
Waiting for certainty.
Waiting for everything to be perfect.
Waiting for the sign.
Waiting for…
You’re noticing a theme in what I’m saying.
The word is waiting.
I say this often, but you are the sign.
It took me a long time to realize that. To understand that I am actually creating all of this, and whatever I put my attention on—whatever my perception believes—becomes true for me.
And knowing that is extremely powerful.
Because then you know you hold the key.
So I’m sitting here messaging you as I’m on one of my God walks in Juno Beach.
It’s a beautiful day.
A little overcast, which is perfect.
I have on my 20-pound weighted vest, and I’m thinking about everything that’s occurred in the almost month that I’ve been here.
And this is one thing I will tell you:
When you decide to shift and live a life that is fully you, everything mirrors you and takes on a deeper meaning.
Because you are the one designing it.
Versus believing that life is happening to you.
When you’re the one designing it, you start to notice everything around you as supportive of your dreams.
Right now in my world, I’m getting ready to go to Paris.
Then I’ll be speaking at an international women’s event in Toulouse, France, on reinvention and sharing my story in a TED-style talk.
From there, I’ll be traveling through the French countryside before making my way to Barcelona.
And when you plan for a trip like this while running your own online business, there’s a lot of preparation that needs to happen.
But there’s also a lot of uncertainty.
Because no matter how much you plan, you eventually have to let go and surrender to something even better.
And for the controllers, the Type A’s, the perfectionists who have an idea of exactly how everything has to go—which was me back in the day—what you’ll discover is that you actually cut yourself off from miracles.
You block your blessings because you’re holding such a tight grip on how it has to look and how it has to be.
And if there’s anything I’ve found in living my Bold Life, it’s this:
When I started this journey in February, I didn’t know anything more than the next step.
And that’s what I want to say to you.
If you’re waiting for the big vision to drop in…
If you’re waiting for the giant download to give you certainty…
If you’re waiting to feel that unmistakable, “Yes, this is my divine path. It’s all so clear now” feeling…
That’s not how it happens.
Especially in midlife.
And especially for awakened women who have a bigger vision they’ve put on hold.
Most often, we’re given the next step.
And honestly, it’s because if you saw the full vision, you probably wouldn’t believe it.
You’d be too afraid to go for it because it would feel too big.
So instead, Divine Source gives you the next step.
The one that makes sense.
The one that’s available today.
And it might feel edgy.
It might stretch you.
It might have you questioning yourself.
But that’s growth.
Because if there isn’t a part of you that feels apprehensive, you’re probably not stretching enough.
You’re still in your comfort zone.
You’re still controlling.
The real growth. The big changes. The transformations we all love to witness.
Every woman loves a makeover.
The before and after.
The dramatic shift.
But in order to create that, you have to let go of certainty.
You have to be willing to release current identities and parts of yourself that can’t come with you where you’re going.
And that’s one reason travel is such a beautiful mirror.
Because it illuminates everything.
Every part of you that loves to control.
Every part that wants all the answers.
Every part that believes it has to keep it all together.
Every part that wants life to run on a perfect schedule.
Travel asks you to loosen your grip.
And it also has a funny way of making you declutter.
As you’re packing, you naturally start asking:
What am I taking with me?
And that opens an entirely different conversation.
A conversation about creating a life that feels delicious, aligned, and beautiful to you.
From the clothes you wear.
To the words you speak.
To the lotion you put on your body.
To the people you surround yourself with.
To the trips you decide to take.
So in this letter, I want to ask you:
Where are you still seeking certainty when it’s actually costing you?
Because it is costing you.
It’s costing you life.
It’s costing you time.
And what I mean by that is this:
In midlife, we want as much time as possible because we’re finally awake to what we really want.
We’re no longer waiting for permission to go for it.
And when you feel that energy…
That fire…
That excitement…
You don’t want to wait another day to start living that life.
That Bold Life.
You want to start today.
I know I do.
I wake up every day like a kid on Christmas morning.
And that’s what I want for you, too.
So if you haven’t been feeling lit up by life…
If you’ve been feeling stuck…
If you’ve been waiting for the sign…
Take this as your sign.
Stop waiting for certainty.
Instead, ask yourself:
What’s the one next step I can take today in the direction that brings me the most joy?
And then do that.
All my love,
Until next week,
Rewrite the rules.
