You know I’m a Christmas fanatic right?

Like, full on Christmas music in November and I’ve DVR’d (yes it’s a verb:) and am obsessed with Hallmark Channels countdown to Christmas. Is this just me?

I mean who doesn’t like happy endings, love stories and the idea of Santa…a jolly man who brings you gifts in exchange for cookies? AHHMAZING!

Now on the flip side, the holiday season, although I love it, becomes crazy hectic and stressful.

It’s all too easy to neglect you, feel completely overwhelmed, not get enough sleep, which leads to heightened cravings, enhanced negativity and insane levels of stress.

A recipe for weight gain and holiday (family) drama…we don’t need either of these.

So here are a 3 Tips to help you stay sane and stick to self-care this holiday season:

  1. Stick to your schedule – meaning, schedule “you-time”. This needs to be non-negotiable. Your workouts, food prep, time out for good old mom…yes, you need time for just you! Whether you have kids or not, you-time is non-negotiable. You know the saying “Happy Wife, Happy Life? Well, my saying is “Happy You, Happy Life”.
  2. Movement is Magic – When we are short on time, the first thing to go is usually your workout, but this is the very thing you need to stay aligned with your goals, clear your head, lift your spirits and decrease your stress. Too often, it’s when we need self-care the most, that it’s the first thing we stop doing. Schedule it and get accountability.
  3. Set Daily Intentions – I am huge on the power of intention. It is a must each day, without it, it’s like driving a car with no destination, you’re aimless and the road is taking you wherever it goes and you’re simply hanging on for the ride…um this is no good. Be clear on what you want, how you want to feel, what you want to experience. Then turn it over and ask for that or something greater. I simply say “So it shall be or something even better!”

Put these into action today and live a stress-free tomorrow!
