It’s not possible to love you and not love your body. I had a woman say this to me as she asked my why she can’t seem to lose weight.
It was clear as day to me she is disconnected. She sees herself as two different women and she also did not love herself. In fact when we got down to it, she didn’t really like herself. She thought she did but when we looked at her thoughts, food choices and actions, there was little kindness for herself and little acknowledgment of her body.
I explained, you can’t love you and not love your body. You are one in the same, and it’s this simple disconnection that is standing in the way of losing weight.
This disconnection is the very thing that causes her to struggle, to sabotage, and to push herself into workouts that feel exhausting.
In order to lose weight with ease, you have to have 3 things:
Faith + Consistency + Fun
She is literally working against herself and is not listening to her internal guiding system.
You have an internal GPS, your intuition, your soul, the you that was born perfect. Before all of these stories and limiting beliefs created your ego, there was you, perfection.
As adults, we have to work harder to tap into our inner GPS. This guiding system is literally your compass to your dream body and life.
Are you listening and tuning into your body or are you letting your mind take the wheel?
What I know for sure is your body has a short cut and it’s trying to tell you what to do, what to eat, how to act, and how to move, but you aren’t listening. You have your own idea of what you need. It’s your belief that you have to diet, deprive, restrict, and burn 500 calories in order to get the weight off, that gets in the way.
Keep it simple. Tune in. Connect to you. Listen to your body.
What do you need?
Do you love yourself and your body? Answer these questions to find out:
1. Are you pushing for results or allowing them to come?
2. When was the last time you looked at yourself naked without thinking negative thoughts?
3. Do you sabotage yourself with food?
4. Do you struggle with your follow through or commitments? Ex: Are you always late, have unfinished projects, do you procrastinate?
5. Are your thoughts negative or positive about yourself?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then love for you is needed and a lot more of it.
